Overview
Splash Art Republic (awesome peeps - you should check out one of their fun activities!) came to me looking for help with their website, wanting to move on from using Wix and having something fit for their brand, and long-term goals.
For this project, I provided a full-service solution which encompassed both design and development of the site - taking into account their internal branding, new photography and updating the site to be more modern and most importantly accessible.
A lot of consideration was placed on updating their site to be accessible, and responsive. The previous site used a lot of image based graphics with text to try and portray their information and updates, this was both not accessible and didn't help a user understand the offerings of the company. I also had to build a site that was capable of housing their various studios, alongside expansion with either new studios or franchises.
As a Craft CMS Partner, I leaned on utilising it to house the back-end for the site. This is not only because it has first-class support for multi-site builds, but I also knew I could utilise it in a headless manner allowing us to build out a front-end on Astro to provide the fastest site we could to the end customer. When content is updated in the back-end we use a webhook to rebuild the site and serve this cached over Cloudflare.
The site features various page building blocks to allow Splash Art to scaffold out any pages they need, without requiring developer intervention, this allows them to quickly get new sites spun up if they have a new store and allows them to adjust the site based on their in-store offerings.
I now work with them on ad-hoc tasks to update the website as well as providing quarterly maintenance.
